With Fall right around the corner, it's just about time to start looking at a new seasonal style! One of the most beautiful trends that has popped up this year has been coined "Splashlights" and is a perfect new fall 'do.
If you already have a summer Ombre or Balayage, this is a pretty simple change to darken your existing color in select areas for fall and winter, and if you don't, it's a great new style to try out without a huge commitment! There are various ways to do Splashlights and they can range from subtle to high contrast, but the basic technique is to paint the roots and ends a color similar to your natural color (or leave your natural color), and enlighten the middle. The technique of focusing the enlightening across the middle section of the hair makes it look as if you are standing in a spotlight or in front of a camera flash. It looks especially beautiful when the bulk of the lightest color is focused around the face and all the colors are thoroughly blended together.
Here are some great examples of how beautiful this look can be!
Great auburn tones for fall
High contrast blond with dark roots and ends adds the perfect pop of brightness
Very subtle Splashlights focusing around the face
Looks great on short hair as well!
Adds subtle dimension to big waves
Adding brightness around the face warms up the complexion
